Seaway Heavy Lifting has installed 56 out of the 86 jacket foundations on the Beatrice Offshore wind farm in the Outer Moray Firth, Scotland, Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited (BOWL), said.

The jacket foundations will support 84 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines and are already supporting two Siemens Offshore Transformer Modules (OTMs).

Turbine installation at the site located on the north-western point of the Smith Bank, approximately 7nm off the Caithness coastline, is scheduled to start this summer.

The 588MW Beatrice wind farm is expected to be commissioned in 2019.

BOWL is a joint venture partnership between SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power Ltd.
