Wind farm installation vessel Seajacks Scylla is set to begin working on the East Anglia One offshore wind farm at the end of July or the beginning of August, a spokesperson on behalf of Seajacks told Offshore WIND.

In January 2017, Seajacks and Van Oord won contracts to install the jacket foundations at the East Anglia One offshore wind farm, with Seajacks Scylla being the main installation vessel.

Van Oord is in charge of the logistics of all jacket foundations and piles, as well as the transport to the marshaling port of Vlissingen, the Netherlands, from where the main vessel will transport the structures and install them at the offshore site.

After completing the installation of the last of the 87 wind turbines at the Walney Extension wind farm in April, the 139-meter-long vessel left for the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, where it is currently undergoing demobilization.

The 714MW East Anglia One wind farm, currently being built off the Suffolk coast, will comprise 102 7MW Siemens Gamesa turbines scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
