FLNG Hilli Episeyo located offshore Kribi in Cameroon shipped its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo onboard Teekay’s Galicia Spirit.
The vessel, chartered by Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GMT) the sole offtaker of the LNG volumes produced by Golar’s FLNG unit, departed the facility on Thursday last week, Reuters reports citing trade sources.
According to the AIS data provided by VesselsValue, the LNG carrier is heading for the Guanghui Energy’s Qidong LNG terminal in China’s Jiangsu province, with the delivery expected on June 14.
The vessel, capable of transporting 137,800 cubic meters of the chilled fuel is currently sailing in the South Atlantic off the coast of Namibia, with a draft of 11.3, or 93.3 percent laden.
The LNG shipper Golar said in March its FLNG Hilli Episeyo started producing LNG off the coast of Cameroon. It is designed for a liquefaction capacity of about 2.4 million tons of LNG per annum and is be put in operation for Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon.
The project is based on the allocation of 500 bcf of natural gas reserves to be supplied by SNH and Perenco from the Sanaga Sud and Ebome fields.
The shipping data shows that the second vessel, Golar’s 145,700-cbm LNG carrier Golar Maria, is heading towards the FLNG Hilli Episeyo and is currently off the coast of Gabon.
