Following an internal competition, workers at Siemens Gamesa and EnBW have decided on a name for the second Bibby WaveMaster Service Operation Vessel (SOV).
The new walk-to-work vessel will be servicing the EnBW Hohe See and Albatros wind farms in the German North Sea under the name of Bibby WaveMaster Horizon.
The SOV is currently under construction at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania.
Once constructed and delivered by mid-2019, Bibby WaveMaster Horizon will start a 10-year charter with Siemens Gamesa and EnBW. Siemens Gamesa will take over for the first, and EnBW for the second five-year period.
She will be homeported in Emden and used for operations & maintenance services on the two wind farms.
Bibby WaveMaster Horizon is a sister vessel to Bibby WaveMaster 1 .
