Wireless well technology specialist Acoustic Data has announced a number of new hires to accelerate its growth plan.

The hires, including new chief operating officer, Gavin Lindsay, follow on the heels of the company’s new 350m2 Technology Centre and headquarters in Woking, UK.

Joining from READ Cased Hole, where he was the business development director, Lindsay brings 25 years’ of drilling and evaluation experience. Previously he held a number of senior sales and marketing positions with Baker Hughes across the globe including Germany, Malaysia, Trinidad and the USA.

Gavin Lindsay , COO, commented: “Acoustic Data is a dynamic, fast-growth company based around a unique core technology, SonicGauge. No one else is doing what they do in the downhole monitoring space, which is reflected in their substantial order book and the recent private equity investment. It’s an exciting time to join such a high-calibre team and a company with a pipeline of disruptive technology.”

Lindsay is the latest of a number of recent hires. In April this year, former Schlumberger executive Mike Mannering joined the company as chairman, and more recently, a number of senior operations and technical sales personnel have added to the company’s headcount.

Mark Tolley , CEO, added: “After substantial investment in research and development to perfect the technology, it’s been a breakthrough year. The new additions to the team and the investment from Energy Growth Momentum will help us hit the next level in terms of service delivery. We’re already working on some exciting development plans which will be realised over the next six months.”
