Newly-established company Probunkers headquartered in the Greek capital Athens is looking to develop a global LNG bunkering project, that will see the construction of a fleet of LNG supply vessels.

The project is aimed at contributing to the development of LNG marine infrastructure by providing LNG bunkering services to support the sustainable shipping and green energy.

According to the company’s website, it will be a global multi-million dollar project that will focus on two industries, shipping and energy.

Probunkers will design, build and operate the fleet of LNG bunkering vessels that will enable it to fulfill the three-tier role as a physical supplier, LNG trade/seller and barge owner and operator.

The company has selected seven trade ports and bunkering hubs for the deployment of its LNG bunkering vessels. The ports already provide storage capacity and a 37 percent share of global bunker demand.

Probunkers plans to develop the project in four stages, with the first being the development of strategy and feasibility, planning and design while the implementation and construction phase could take two years. The project is planned to be in operation in 2022.
