Australia Pacific LNG export project on Curtis Island near Gladstone shipped its 250th cargo of liquefied natural gas.
In a brief statement through its social media channels, ConocoPhillips, the downstream operator, and a holder of a 37.5 percent stake in the joint venture noted that, since January 2016, the projects shipped an LNG cargo approximately every three days.
Other partners in the APLNG joint venture are Origin which is the upstream operator with a 37.5 percent stake and Sinopec that holds a 25 percent share.
The Australia Pacific LNG’s two liquefaction trains have a combined production capacity of 9.5 million tons of LNG per year.
The project exports LNG under 20-year offtake deals with JV partner Sinopec for 7.6 mtpa and 1 mtpa for Kansai Electric.
Besides the LNG shipments, APLNG is a major supplier to Queensland’s domestic gas market, supplying many Gladstone industrial customers with gas.
