Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has delivered the Skald jack-up rig to Borr Skald Inc, a subsidiary of Borr Drilling on time and on budget.
Keppel O&M delivered the rig through its wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel FELS.
It is the second jack-up rig that Keppel has delivered to Borr Drilling following the delivery of the Saga earlier this year, with another eight on order, the rig builder said on Wednesday.
Built to Keppel’s KFELS Super B Class design, Skald is capable of operating in 400 feet water depth and drilling to 35,000 feet. The rig is equipped with cantilever skid-off capabilities, with a maximum combined cantilever load of 3,700 kips, and high capacity hook loads of two million pounds.

Developed by Keppel’s technology arm, Offshore Technology Development, the KFELS B Class designs have a market share of about a quarter of all jack-up rigs delivered since 2000, Keppel said.
