Greek ship-owner Thenamaris ordered a new liquefied natural gas carrier at the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The vessel with a capacity to transport 174,000 cubic meters is scheduled for delivery in September 2020.

The French liquefied natural gas containment specialist, GTT, has been contracted to design the tanks of the newbuild.

GTT will equip the vessel with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

Commenting on the order, GTT’s chairman and CEO Philippe Berterottière said the order continues its cooperation with Hyundai Heavy Industries with the pair jointly managing over 50 newbuilds.
