South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has booked an order from the Angelicoussis Shipping Group’s unit Maran Gas Maritime, for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

The vessel with a 173,400 cubic meter storage capacity is the 100th vessel ordered by the Angelicoussis Shipping Group at DSME since 1994, DSME said in its statement on Wednesday.

The FSRU with a length of 295 meters and a width of 46 meters is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2021.

The 100th order puts the total value of contracts scored by DSME from the Angelicoussis Shipping Group to about $11 billion. OUt of the 100 vessels, 82 have already been delivered while the remaining 19 are currently under construction at DSME’s Okpo shipyard.

The company has placed orders with DSME for 24 vessels since 2015, DSME said noting that currently there are 22 vessels being built at shipyards around the world with 18 being built by DSME, accounting for the 82 percent of the whole figure.

So far this year, DSME has won orders for 27 vessels with a total price tag of $3.4 billion. These orders are for 11 LNG carriers, including FSRUs, 15 large-sized crude oil tanker and one specialized vessel, DSME said.
