Seaway Heavy Lifting’s vessel Oleg Strashnov has installed the 86th and final jacket foundation on the Beatrice offshore wind farm in the Outer Moray Firth, Scotland.

The jacket foundations will support 84 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines and two Siemens Offshore Transmission Modules (OTMs). The first turbines are expected to be installed shortly by the installation vessel Pacific Orca.

The turbine components will be loaded onto Pacific Orca in the sets of five at Nigg Energy Park on the Cromarty Firth.

The 588MW project is being developed by Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited (BOWL), a joint venture partnership between SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power Ltd.

The wind farm is slated for full commissioning in 2019.
