Ellicott Dredges, a Baltimore based manufacturer of dredging equipment, recently completed a custom designed and built Series 370 Dragon dredger for a salt mining company in Nova Scotia, Canada.

“Ellicott Dredges was awarded the contract based on its reputation for designing and manufacturing heavy-duty, reliable dredges ,” the company said in their announcement.

This customized edition of Ellicott’s Series 370 Dragon dredge included an inline drive, PLC control system with joy stick controls and super-duty pump capable of moving large quantities of rock salt from one of the largest salt mines in the world.

This portable dredge represents a revolutionary breakthrough in dredge design and construction. Adaptation of the hull, ladder, and spud extensions for various digging depths added to the modular design concept of the Dragon Series provides the most efficient and flexible dredging equipment on the market, said Ellicott.
