China’s New Times Shipbuilding has named a new 111,000 dwt oil tanker owned by Navig8 Group.

The naming ceremony for Navig8 Prestige JKB was held at NTS shipyard in Jiangsu Province on August 13.

The newbuilding will be operated by Navig8 Product 2020, Navig8’s new platform dedicated to scrubber-fitted tankers. It is one of eight LR2 ships to be fitted with scrubbers.

With a length of 249.9 meters and a width of 44 meters, Navig8 Prestige JKB currently has a market value of USD 41.53 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Earlier this month, the shipbuilder delivered the first of the units, Navig8 Pride LHJ.

All of the eight vessels are expected to join Navig8 Product 2020’s Alpha8 pool.
