Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation Pertamina has reportedly hired one of JDC’s jack-up rigs.

According to VesselsValue, a website providing global vessel and rig fleet valuations, Pertamina has hired the Hakuryu-14 jack-up drilling rig, owned by Japanese offshore drilling company JDC.

The rig has, reportedly, been hired on a one-year term contract. VesselsValue’s data indicates that the Hakuryu-14 is expected to begin work on September 1, 2018, and end it on August 30, 2019.

The contract for the drilling rig also includes a one-year extension option.

Hakuryu-14 is a 400-feet operating water depth self-elevating cantilever jack-up drilling rig, built by PPL Shipyard Pte. Ltd. in 2018 using a Baker Marine Design.

This is the newest rig in JDC’s fleet, delivered in January this year. The company is still waiting for the delivery of one rig, the Hakuryu-15.

The contract for the construction of the rig was awarded to Sembcorp Marine’s PPL Shipyard in November 2014.
