Well construction specialist DeltaTek Global has won a two-year contract from Aberdeen-based operator Siccar Point Energy. DeltaTek said that it would be operating on a call off basis with an optional contract extension.
The company will provide cementing services using its SeaCure technology, a system which delivers stabbed-in, inner string cementing for subsea wells, in support of Siccar’s drilling and field development operations in the North Sea.
DeltaTek CEO and founder, Tristam Horn , said: “Following on from the success of initial ‘proof of concept’ trials earlier this year, and with a number of live field trials taking place this summer, we are now in a position to announce a contract award.
“The significance of Siccar Point’s early adoption of DeltaTek’s approach to offshore cementing cannot be underestimated. By supporting – and benefiting – from our innovative technology, this represents a truly critical milestone in the DeltaTek journey.”

To remind, Siccar applied to the UK government for consent to drill the Lyon well back in December 2017 .
The well is located in license P1854, approximately 125 km northwest of the Shetland Islands. The water depth at the site is about 1,444 meters. Siccar will drill the well using the West Hercules semi-submersible rig following the Cambo appraisal well.
