US LNG exporter Cheniere has filed a request with the United States regulator to introduce feed gas and refrigerants and continue its commissioning activities for train 5 at the Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana.

Cheniere is requesting authorization to conduct commissioning activities associated with phases 3-5 of its commissioning plan.

The company is requesting a permit be granted no later than September 6 in order to remain on schedule, the company said in its filing to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The filing further states the company is in compliance with all the conditions set by the regulator.

Cheniere is developing up to six trains at the Sabine Pass site, each capable of producing 4.5 mtpa of the chilled fuel each.

The company said that out of the five trains that will have a nominal capacity of 22.5 mtpa, approximately 88 percent or 19.75 mtpa, has been contracted to third party, foundation customers on a long-term FOB basis under sale and purchase agreements.
