Gothia Tankers Alliance fifth LNG-fueled vessel leaves dock

Gothia Tanker Alliance’s fifth LNG-fueled vessel, the Fure Ven, has pulled out of the dock at the Chinese Avic Dingheng shipyard.

Gothia Tanker Alliance’s fifth LNG-fueled vessel, the Fure Ven, has pulled out of the dock at the Chinese Avic Dingheng shipyard.

It is a part of the six-vessel series ordered by the Gothia Tanker Alliance members Furetank, Älvtank and Erik Thun.

Out of the six vessels on order Furetank has three, Älvtank two and Thun Tankers one.

All the 16,000 DWT tankers are equipped with dual-fuel engines for LNG operation, featuring ice class 1A.

Marine engineering company FKAB, noted the Fure Ven is owned by Furetank. The company also noted that it has delivered the basic design and detail design to the shipyard.

FKAB added that two more vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2018, namely the Thun Venern and Fure Valö.
