Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Pampa Melchorita shipped two cargoes of the fuel following a maintenance shutdown .

To remind, the facility stopped exports on July 27 to undergo routine maintenance over a three-week period.

Peru LNG resumed exports late last month with the first cargo leaving the facility on August 25 onboard the 135,072-cbm LNG carrier Gallina that is heading towards Spain, data from the state-owned Perupetro shows.

The second LNG cargo departed the Peru LNG export facility aboard the 173,000-cbm Magdala LNG tanker on August 31. This shipment is on its way to China, according to the data.

With these two shipments, the facility’s total dispatched cargoes rose to 474 since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.

Shareholders in the Peru LNG project are Hunt Oil, Shell, SK Innovation and Marubeni.
