Tekmar, provider of protection systems for subsea cable, umbilical and flexible pipes and offshore engineering services, has transitioned to ISO 45001:2018.

ISO 45001:2018 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, to enable organisations to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health.

The team received the news from DNV GL that Tekmar are the first company in the North East of England to achieve the certification, but also the first offshore & manufacturing company in the UK to be recommended for ISO 45001:2018.

HSQE manager Rob McGill said, “It has been a busy and exciting year at Tekmar and the results are visible. We are so proud of this recognition. Achieving this milestone gives our customers confidence that we are committed to the continual improvement in Health and Safety and that Tekmar are leading the way in the industry.”
