LNG exports from the three liquefaction plants located on Curtis Island offshore Gladstone totaled 1.76 million tonnes during August, hitting a seven-month high, according to the data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation.
Australia’s east coast LNG export volumes rose 7 percent from July and were up 8 percent year-on-year, the data showed.
China remained the top destination for Gladstone LNG exports with 1.26 million tonnes shipped to the world’s largest energy importer in the month under review.
These volumes rose 13 percent year-on-year and were up 3 percent from the month before.
The rest of the August LNG cargoes went to South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.
LNG exports from the three terminals totaled 13.36 million tonnes in the January-August period.
The LNG export plants located on Curtis Island include Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG, Santos Gladstone LNG and the ConocoPhillips-operated Australia Pacific LNG terminal.
