UTEC, a global survey company in subsea services group Acteon, has appointed Nadir Rahmatullah a new commercial and strategy director of its Middle East and Caspian operations.

Rahmatullah was most recently the managing director of UTEC StarNet, a specialist division of UTEC providing survey, inspection, and data management services to the oil and gas, telecommunication, renewables, civil engineering, and nuclear sectors.

He joined UTEC’s parent company Acteon Group, under its Pacer Program. The program gave Rahmatullah the opportunity to work at a high level within the group and helped to fast-track him into senior management, including the role of Acteon global head of operations.

Regarding his appointment, Rahmatullah said: “In the Middle East, UTEC has positioned itself as a credible partner for offshore survey services, including vessel-based geophysical scopes, and I look forward to continuing to grow our capability and reach within the region.”

Bill Hickie , UTEC Middle East and Caspian business unit director, added: “Nadir’s appointment really strengthens our commercial and strategic capabilities. Our revenues have more than doubled this year and the potential opportunity for exponential growth is tangible. Developing our strategy is fundamental to driving that growth and Nadir’s contribution will be invaluable.”

This appointment follows the appointment of the group’s managing director Paul Smith earlier this month .
