Energy infrastructure system specialist Pfisterer is establishing a specialized offshore wind team within the PTS (Power Transmission Solutions) Cable Business Unit.

The team will be led by Dr. Peter Müller and is being established to expand the company’s role in the field of connection systems for modern offshore wind farms in Europe and beyond.

“So far we have focused mainly on the European market, but in the future we also want to become increasingly active on other continents. We are already in initial negotiations in Taiwan and in the USA,” said Dr. Müller.

Pfisterer is currently developing what the company describes as the world’s most compact connection system for the high-voltage level up to 72.5 kV.

“Our new plug is a good 30% smaller and 35% lighter than its predecessor and is in no way inferior to it. With the new products enormous space and time saving scan be achieved. We are looking forward to present the complete product range at WindEnergy in Hamburg next week,” said Dr. Müller.
