The United States exported a total of five liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes in the week ending September 19, one cargo less than the previous week.

Data from the Energy Information Administration shows that four of the five cargoes were dispatched from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG project and one from the Cove Point LNG plant.

The total combined LNG-carrying capacity of the five vessels was 17.8 Bcf while three more cargoes with a total LNG-carrying capacity of 11.3 Bcf loading on Wednesday.

During the week under review, Cove Point LNG facility received an LNG vessel on Sunday, September 16, two days after the landfall of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. The second LNG vessel after the hurricane arrived at Cove Point terminal on Tuesday.

The facility operator, Dominion, noted that it will shut down the export terminal in Maryland for planned maintenance this week.

The natural gas feedstock to both Sabine Pass and Dominion’s Cove Point LNG terminal averaged 3.1 Bcf/d during the week under review, compared to 3.3 Bcf/d last week.
