French LNG containment specialist GTT said Monday it has secured a new order from the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of two 174,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carriers.

GTT said in its statement that the two LNG carriers would be built on behalf of a European shipowner.

The LNG tanks of both vessels will be fitted with the Mark III Flex+ membrane containment system developed by GTT, offering a boil-off rate of 0.07% of tank volume/day, according to GTT.

The delivery of the vessels is planned during the second quarter of 2020.
