Norwegian seismic specialist TGS and oilfield services providers Schlumberger have announced a new multiclient nodal seismic project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
TGS said on Friday that the project, named “Amendment”, would comprise the acquisition of a 2,350 square kilometers of a multi-client seismic survey in the Mississippi Canyon and Atwater Valley protraction areas of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
This prolific area includes open acreage, existing producing assets, and new discoveries. Seismic data will be acquired using Fairfield Geotechnologies 4C nodal acquisition technology.
Operations on the project are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018 while the final data would be delivered to customers in the first quarter of 2020.

In the Amendment project, TGS and Schlumberger will reimage underlying WAZ seismic data to provide modern, high-quality nodal seismic data to our clients.”
