Italy’s OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, the operator of the floating import terminal off the coast between Livorno and Pisa, said it has chosen the winner of an LNG cargo tender which attracted six offers.

The tender launched on October 2 by OLT Offshore LNG Toscana was “successfully concluded with the awarding of the peak shaving service for the sixth consecutive year,” the LNG terminal operator said in its statement.

The company that was awarded the service will provide Italy’s Snam Rete Gas with about 109,000 cubic meters of LNG, which will have to be discharged by the end of this year, OLT Offshore said without revealing any further information.

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, set up from the association of Iren Group (49.07%), Uniper Global Commodities (48.24%) and Golar LNG (2.69%), owns and manages the floating regasification terminal FSRU Toscana.

At full capacity, the terminal has a regasification capacity of 3.75 billion cubic meters a year.
