Singapore-based towage operator PSA Marine laid the keel for its LNG-fueled tug at the PaxOcean Shipyard.

The 50-ton bollard pull vessel classed by Bureau Veritas has been designed by the Finnish technology group Wärtsilä.

LNG-fuelled harbour tug is also in line with PSA Marine’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, the company said in a statement.

The 28-meter long, 50-ton bollard pull harbour tug will operate with two Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel engines running primarily on LNG fuel, as well as Wärtsila’s LNGPac fuel storage and supply system.

The vessel is planned to be in operation in the port of Singapore around mid-2019.
