MHI Vestas will increase annual production at its nacelle factory in Lindoe, Denmark, to keep pace with offshore wind turbine demand, and is kicking off a recruitment process for 50 new employees.
The hiring spree is part of the company’s expansion plans, which also led MHI Vestas to extend its lease agreement with the Lindoe port of Odense , and adding an additional 10,000 m² of factory space and 27,000 m² of storage space for completed nacelles.
The offshore wind turbine supplier, which is now looking for production line workers and engineers to join its Lindoe team, will also implement new efficiency measures to help boost production at the factory.
“[W]e are implementing new testing schemes at the plant that are designed to increase the rate of production as well as improve the quality of the assembled nacelle,” said MHI Vestas VP of Nacelles, Claus Ungstrup . “This next phase of production will allow us to meet demand and do so more efficiently.”

The expansion plans announcement comes shortly after the news that MHI Vestas signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Northland Power and Yushan Energy to provide wind turbines for the 300MW Hai Long offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
