Norwegian liquefied natural gas (LNG) provider Skangas is changing its name to Gasum following the completion of the integration process that started after the Nordic energy company Gasum secured full ownership in October.

Gasum has purchased the remaining Lyse Group’s share in Skangas securing full ownership of the company.

All Skangas companies will be renamed to Gasum, the company said in a statement.

The name change will take place in Norway, Sweden and Finland at the latest by December 3, 2018, subsequent to each country registry offices’ approval.

In its previous statement, Gasum said the acquisition of the remaining share in Skangas gives the company better opportunities to build and develop the Nordic gas ecosystem and to respond to growing demand.

The demand for cleaner fuel solutions is increasing rapidly as new ways to reduce emissions and fight climate change are sought in all transport and industry sectors, Gasum said.

The company is planning to expand the Nordic LNG filling station network to around 50 locations by the early 2020s, which would increase the use of liquefied natural gas and liquefied biogas in road haulage and distribution traffic.
