Greek shipowner NGM Energy has been linked to an order for two 156,000 dwt tankers at Chinese shipbuilder New Times Shipbuilding, according to Clarksons.
The tankers are expected for delivery in 2020 and are priced at USD 56 million each.
The order includes an option for two optional tankers, based on the shipbroking report.
New Times Shipbuilding has clocked up over 60 newbuilding orders over the past few years, securing a solid backlog until 2021.
The most prolific sectors so far have been Capesizes and LR2 tankers that dominate the orderbook.
Chinese Bank of Communications has an impressive order tally at the shipyard with 6 Suezmax tankers and 12 LR2 on order, based on the data from VesselsValue. Pan Ocean and 2020 Bulkers have eight Capesizes on order at the yard respectively, and FrontMarine has eight Ultramax bulkers.
