ECA Group has been awarded a two-year contract for ISS (in service support) by the French Navy Fleet Support Service (SSF).
Under the contract, ECA Group will provide corrective and preventive maintenance of the H2000 “Diomede” ROV used by Cephismer (Diving and Intervention Unit), initially supplied by ECA Group in 2011.
ECA Group designed its H2000, later renamed “Diomede” by Cephismer, to participate in military missions such as assistance to a submarine in distress, search or recovery of aircraft, or search for objects at sea.
This service contract aims to guarantee the complete availability of Cephismer equipment, as it can be deployed anytime according to the needs of the French Navy.
The ROV, previously used for tasks such as wreck inspection and lifting of several tonnes heavy objects up to 2000 meters deep, will undergo major component replacement to ensure its extended lifespan and some minor upgrades.
