Aberdeen-based Texo Group, an integrated asset services specialist, has been awarded a contract to upgrade the 1986-built Ensco 100 jack-up drilling rig.
The quayside stay project will take place at the Port of Dundee where Texo has established fabrication, engineering, marine and integrity management facilities.
The company said on Wednesday that this was the first contract win for its MODU business unit.
The project is expected to take 12 weeks to complete. The scope of works will include the removal of existing equipment and extensive rig upgrades including: sewerage treatment plant, RO unit, preload system, spud can and leg repairs as well as an extensive painting and protection rig enhancement.

Texo Group is an inspection, engineering, procurement and construction (iEPC) specialist for multiple sectors, including oil & gas, clean energy & renewables, marine, nuclear, telecommunications, utilities and critical civil/infrastructure.
It is worth reminding that Ensco will merge with Rowan , creating an offshore drilling company with 82 offshore rigs in its fleet.
