The commissioning phase of the Nemo Link interconnector, between UK and Belgium, is set to start early-mid December 2018.
The commissioning phase will last until the end of January 2019, the Nemo Link consortium, consisting of ELIA and National Grid, informed.
Nemo Link will consist of two subsea and underground cables connected to a converter station and an electricity substation in Belgium and the UK, which will allow up to 1000 MW of electricity to flow in either direction between the two countries.
“The associated direction and volume of power flow will vary,” the company said.
The offshore works on the cable are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
