South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has won an order to build a mid-sized liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker from Norway’s Knutsen OAS Shipping.

The order is worth 85.9 billion won ($76.7 million), Hyundai Mipo said in a statement on Thursday.

This will be South Korea’s first small and mid-sized LNG carrier to be built for a foreign shipping company, according to Hyundai Mipo.

The Korean shipbuilder will deliver the dual fuel engine-powered 30,000-cbm vessel to Knutsen by the first quarter of 2021.

The deal includes an option for an additional sister vessel.

The LNG carrier will be 180 meters long and 28.4 meters wide and will be used to supply LNG from the eastern part of Italy to Sardinia Island in the Mediterranean Sea, Hyundai Mipo said.
