South Korea’s shipbuilding giant Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) said it has secured an order from Greek shipping company Maran Gas Maritime, a unit of Angelicoussis Shipping Group, to build a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier.

The 173,400-cbm LNG carrier is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2021.

The M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection (MEGI) vessel will also feature a full re-liquefaction system, according to Daewoo.

The shipbuilder did not reveal the price tag of the LNG carrier.

However, last week it won a deal to build two LNG carriers for BW with a similar capacity, worth some $185 million, each.

This is the 101st order scored by DSME from the Angelicoussis Shipping Group out of which 85 ships have already been delivered while the remaining 16 are under construction at DSME’s Okpo shipyard.
