Dutch shipbuilding giant Damen is joining the German Maritime LNG Platform as a new member starting from January 1, 2019.

The German LNG initiative is a coalition of more than 80 national and international industrial and shipping companies, port authorities and initiatives aimed at boosting the use of liquefied natural gas as fuel.

“As a family company with a long-term view, Damen is keen to support initiatives that promote sustainability within the maritime industry. We are confident that LNG will be a vital contributor to this and are proud of our development and conversion of vessels to LNG propulsion thus far,” said Remko Bouma , Damen’s Sales Manager for North, West & South Europe

“We are very much looking forward to working with the Maritime LNG Platform to set further impetus within the German market,” he added.
