Norwegian oil production during November 2018 was lower than expected due to the shut down of the Sture oil terminal and the Kollsnes gas processing plant, according to Wednesday’s report by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
Preliminary production figures for November 2018 show an average daily production of 1,880,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is an increase of 22,000 barrels per day compared to October.
Total gas sales were 10.2 billion Sm3 (GSm3), which is a decrease of 0.3 GSM3 from the previous month.
Average daily liquids production in November was: 1,500,000 barrels of oil, 351,000 barrels of NGL and 29 000 barrels of condensate.
Oil production for November is about four percent below the NPD’s forecast for the month and about 4.5 percent below the forecast for 2018.
The NPD said that the main reasons that production in November was below forecast were the shut down of the Sture oil terminal and the Kollsnes gas processing plant after a collision between a crude tanker with a military vessel and technical problems on some fields.
