ExxonMobil-led WCC LNG export project proposed at Tuck Inlet in Prince Rupert, British Columbia has been withdrawn.
“After careful review, ExxonMobil Canada and Imperial Oil Resources have withdrawn the WCC LNG project from the B.C. Environmental Assessment process,” a notice on WCC LNG website says.
In an email sent to Scott Pinhey, vice president WCC LNG, proposed by ExxonMobil Canada and Imperial Oil Resources, Nathan Braun, executive project director at B.C. EAO said, “the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) has granted the request and the WCC LNG project has been formally withdrawn from the environmental assessment process.”
According to the project website, it was planned to have an initial capacity of up to 15 million metric tonnes of LNG per year for shipment to international markets, with the potential to expand to approximately 30 million tonnes per year.
