South Korea’s Samsung Heavy nets LNG duo order

South Korean shipbuilding giant Samsung Heavy Industries said Monday it won a new order to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

The price tag for the new LNG duo is 426 billion Korean won ($377.8 million).

Samsung Heavy did not reveal the company behind the newest order saying only it is a buyer in North America.

Samsung added it would deliver the vessel in Augsut 2021.

The shipbuilder won orders for six LNG carriers in December.

Samsung’s order total for 2018 now stands at 48 vessels and $6.1 billion, it said.

The ordered vessels include 17 LNG carriers, 13 containerships, 15 tankers, and 3 special purpose ships.
