Take a look at the video above for an overview of the main moments that marked 2018 at the Panama Canal.

The waterway closed fiscal year 2018 with a record, welcoming 442.1 million Panama Canal tons (PC/UMS), the highest annual cargo tonnage in its 104-year history.

In between, Panama Canal welcomed massive new vessels and strengthened its international maritime service with the increase of Neopanamax reservations.

“We will continue to bring value to the maritime industry by ensuring that the Panama Canal remains a reliable, efficient and valuable route for our customers. We welcome 2019 with new and exciting challenges, reinforcing our commitment to offer a world-class service,” the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) said.
