Offshore driller Noble Corporation has won a contract for its drillship Noble Tom Madden with ExxonMobil in Guyana.
Noble said in its fleet status report published on Monday, the 2014-built Noble Tom Madden drillship had been awarded a one-year contract with ExxonMobil in Guyana. The contract duration is from mid-February 2019 to mid-February 2020. The rig’s dayrate has not been disclosed.
According to information on Bassoe Analytics, the contract starts on February 16, 2019, and the estimated dayrate is $160,000.
The rig’s previous contract with ExxonMobil, which expires in mid-February, started in late October 2018 when the drillship arrived in Guyana . It was used to drill the Pluma 1 prospect in early November.
As reported on Monday, the Noble Tom Madden will drill ExxonMobil’s second well in Guyana planned for January. The Tilapia-1 well, about three miles (five kilometers) west of the Longtail-1 discovery, is located in the growing Turbot area.
After completing its contract with ConocoPhillips in late November 2018, the 2014-built jack-up Noble Tom Prosser has been warm-stacked in Australia and during that time the rig will complete its five-year survey. The rig is expected to start its contract with Santos in March/April 2019.
The Noble Gene House jack-up rig, rebuilt in 1998, has been idle since late December 2018. Before that, the rig worked for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia under a dayrate of $65,000.
