France’s GTT scores LNG tanks order from Samsung Heavy

French LNG containment specialist GTT said Wednesday it received an order from the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of two new 174,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carriers. French LNG containment specialist GTT said Wednesday it received an order from the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of two new 174,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carriers.

These two LNG vessels will be built on behalf of the Japanese shipping giant NYK.

GTT said in a statement it received the order at the beginning of this year.

The tanks of these units will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery between the third and the fourth quarters of 2021, the French company said.
