Greek utility company Gastrade has revised the invitation for the expression of interest for the supply of Alexandroupolis floating sotrage and regasification unit (FSRU).
The company noted that the timeline for the delivery of the FSRU has been extended by six months.
Gastrade plans to launch its execution phase tender within the first quarter of 2019 and plans to take its final investment decision (FID) in the second quarter of 2019.
The realization of the FSRU contract is expected to commence within the second quarter of 2019 and to be completed within first quarter of 2021 when the FSRU is set for delivery. The planned start-up date for the project is the second quarter of 2021.
The estimated project value is set at €380 million ($435.4 million) with the FSRU contract valued at €240 million.
According to Gastrade documents, the FSRU should have a storage capacity of 150,000-cbm to 170.000-cbm and a nominal send-out rate of 530 mscf/d.
The FSRU will be stationed in the sea of Thrace, 17.6 kilometers South-West of the town of Alexandroupolis in Northeastern Greece at an offshore distance of approximately 10 kilometers from the nearest shore.
The pipeline will be connecting the FSRU to the national natural gas transmission system near the village of Amphitriti, 5.5 kilometers North-East of Alexandroupolis.
