Gothenburg-based mooring solutions provider Moorlink, a Vryhof company, has secured a renewables contract in Hawaii, where its swivels are capable of outstanding performance in extreme conditions.

According to Vryhof, the new deal highlights Moorlink’s commitment to the emerging renewables marine energy market and its ability to customize innovative and cost efficient solutions for pressurised budgets made possible through more than 20 years expertise.

To remind, when it comes to other marine energy projects, Moorlink is also part of a EU-funded Powerkite consortium aiming to build and deploy a tidal power take-off system (PTO).

At the core of the consortium stands Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto who uses a subsea flying kite to extract energy from ocean currents.

MoorLink’s main role in the Powerkite project is development of the mooring system as well as contributing in general with experience in offshore mooring equipment.

Financial details and the client surrounding the renewables contract in Hawaii have not been disclosed.
