Works are beginning next week to restore the Conway Beach Seawall, which was significantly damaged during Ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, the Queensland’s Whitsunday Regional Council said in their latest release.

The restored seawall will help protect the coastline from the effects of storm tide and extreme weather.

According to the official announcement, the restoration operations will take place between 6am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

The works are expected to be completed by mid May 2019, weather permitting, said the council.

Eligible works will be jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments under the Natural Disaster Relief & Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).
