The UK’s South Hook liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facility booked a cargo of the chilled fuel from the Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge terminal.
The cargo is being transported onboard the 173,400-cbm LNG carrier Patris with arrival at South Hook scheduled for December 23, the shipping data from the Milford Haven Port Authority shows.
However, the AIS tracking data provided by VesselsValue shows the vessel stopped at the port of Honningsvag in northern Norway on January 17.
To remind, Yamal LNG operator Novatek used the Norwegian port to conduct ship-to-ship LNG transfer operations from its Arc7 ice-class LNG tankers to conventional carriers.
Patris LNG carrier, owned by Japan’s K Line and the Greek shipowner Chandris has been chartered by BP to transport LNG cargoes from Freeport LNG project in Texas, together with its sister ship Kinsis.
Gas supply from the South Hook terminal to UK’s grid was about 30.7 mcm/day on Monday, according to the latest data by National Grid.
The terminal, owned by Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total, can provide around 20 percent of Britain’s natural gas requirements.
