First liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cargo from Inpex’s Ichthys LNG project near Darwin in Australia reached the Kyushu Fukushima terminal on Wednesday.
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) noted in its statement that its very large gas carrier (VLGC) Grace River delivered the cargo bought by Astomos Energy Corporation.
K Line stressed that 70 percent of the LNG produced by Ichthys liquefied natural gas project is scheduled to be supplied to Japanese customers, adding that Japanese companies are key partners in the 8.9 mtpa project.
In addition to the liquefied natural gas, Ichthys LNG project will produce approximately 1.65 million tons per year of LPG as well as approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
K Line added that the first LNG cargo from the project was lifted by its LNG Carrier Pacific Breeze noting plans that Aframax tankers from its Singapore unit will carry condensate products.
