Greek shipping company Minerva Marine is behind the December order for a large LNG carrier at South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries, according to the data from VesselsValue.

The contract brings Minerva Marine’s ordering tally at Samsung to two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers and follows the order from October 2018.

The two ships, worth over USD 371 million in total, are scheduled for delivery in 2021.

Minerva Marine has two more LNG carriers under construction in South Korea set for delivery in 2021. Specifically, the company booked the construction of two 173,400 cbm LNG carriers ta Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in March 2018.

The Athens-based shipowner is set to welcome into its fleet three newbuild vessels this year, according to the data from VV. Namely, Japanese shipbuilder Sasebo is set to deliver one Aframax tanker and two Post Panamax bulk carriers to Minerva Marine.

The shipping company has 70 ships in its live fleet, comprising bulkers and takers.
