A launching ceremony was held on Friday in South Korea for BW’s third M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection (MEGI) LNG carrier.

The 173,400-cbm vessel equipped with a reliquefaction system was launched at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s (DSME) shipyard in Geoje, BW’s LNG unit said.

The vessel is scheduled to start a long-term charter from delivery in September this year, BW LNG said.

This newbuilding is the third in a series of seven MEGI vessels that BW ordered at Daewoo, with delivery dates between 2018 and 2021.
