Senegal government has hired Doris Engineering to provide advisory services to Senegalese Ministry of Petroleum and Energies for the development for the development of oil & gas projects offshore Senegal.
Doris Engineering will focus on two projects: Grand Tortue Ahmeyim, operated by BP, and the SNE project, operated by Woodside.
The two-year contract will see Doris Engineering review the optimization and the robustness of the field development performed on these projects to be in line with the Ministry expectations.
British oil major BP-operated Grand Tortue Ahmeyim is located at the border between Senegal and Mauritania and lies in ultradeep-water. The facilities under review include the subsea network, the FPSO and the FLNG, Doris said.
Worth reminding, BP made the Final Investment Decision (FID) for Phase 1 of the cross-border Greater Tortue Ahmeyim development in December 2018.
The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project will produce gas from an ultra-deepwater subsea system and mid-water floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which will process the gas, removing heavier hydrocarbon components. The gas will then be transferred to a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility at an innovative nearshore hub located on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border.
As for Woodside-run SNE deepwater oil development, it is located in the Rufisque, Sangomar and Sangomar Deep Blocks, within the Senegalese portion of the Mauritania-Senegal-Guinea Bissau Basin.
Partners in the SNE field offshore Senegal submitted the development and exploitation plan to the government in October last year. The field will be developed in a series of phases with plans for about 500 million barrels of oil (mmbbls) and gross production of 100,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) with first oil targeted in 2022. Following the establishment of oil production, commercial gas sales to Senegal are expected to start.
Doris will review the subsea network and the FPSO which will be the part of the SNE development.
